JazzPhil-USA congratulates ERIC BAUL, 2009 Talent Search Winner!

Native Filipino Eric Baul immigrated to the United States as a teenager and fell in love with the music of Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra and Johnny Mathis, as well as classic American R&B. He was first exposed to jazz vocalizing when he heard a recording of "Moody's Mood for Love." and was immediately hooked. Eric sang throughout high school and at college, in the Cal Poly Pomona choir, where he participated in Pilipino Culture Night (PCN) events. In 2008, hoping to be more involved in his local community, Eric realized his passion for singing could bring people together. He is currently one of the vocalists for the Jazz Mezzin Around band, a Los Angeles ensemble that performs "jazznstuff" -- a fusion of Jazz and R&B.

Eric will be performing at the 5th Annual Filipino-American Jazz Festival at Catalina Bar & Grill.
